Following up on my last post, here is another set of orphaned 3d illustrations that haven’t been uploaded anywhere else as stand-alone stock illustrations. This set is a series of Android logos (the typography-based version – not the robot) rendered in a variety of different settings. The bulk of the set consists of transparent glass Android logos over a gray background, which are very simple and should allow you to modify them however you like.

All of my other Android logo illustration sets (which can be found here, here, here, here, and here) were all based around that iconic green robot in some form or another, so that makes this set a bit unique. It’s funny though – whenever I think “Android logo”, it’s only the robot that I think of. Never the text version. That reason alone may be why these images never made it to this blog or my store – but another reason could be that I personally don’t think these are as visually interesting as my other sets. Either way, I thought that they aren’t doing any good sitting unused in my personal archives, so I am releasing them out into the wild right here and now.

Just like all the other images on my blog, you are free to use these however you wish for your own personal projects. The only thing I ask is that you do not redistribute them yourself. Thanks for your support!

android engineering and development Powerpoint template

A fully editable PowerPoint template for Android development and engineering topics

One of the cool things about producing stock illustrations is that each one of them can be used in a variety of different ways. I don’t always do much with my own work, but over the years I’ve found that they are really fun and easy to turn into PowerPoint templates. Yeah, I know – PowerPoint isn’t really considered “cool” in the design world, but the fact of the matter is that I create more presentation templates for my clients than anything else. Some people just have a lot to say I guess!

This presentation template is based on one of my most recent illustrations featuring an Android logo inside a large gear. I’ve done a lot of stock illustrations featuring the Android logo over the years, and I never seem to run out of ideas for more. That says a lot considering that I’m primarily an Apple iOS guy – I admit that I’ve been fighting the urge to step over to the land of Google. Time will tell.

Anyway, this is kind of a dark template but I think it’s appropriate given that it is aimed towards designers and developers who might need a presentation theme that’s a bit edgier than normal corporate templates. I personally don’t like using dark templates to present text-based information, but they do come in handy when the content consists of photos and illustrations instead of text. Imagery just seems to pop a whole lot better over dark backgrounds.

Once downloaded, you’ll find a fully editable cover slide, and two different types of interior pages.

Yeah, I’ve been pretty busy lately. I mean…REALLY busy. It’s the sort of busy that makes me feel guilty for spending too long in the bathroom, and there just aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything I need to do. But I do see some relief in sight, so that’s the only thing keeping me hanging on. A Hawaiian vacation would be epic right about now…

So what has been keeping me so busy over the last month or so? Mobile UI design, and a whole lot of it. I had a client who was looking to re-skin their existing Android app into something more “clean and white, with glowing blue elements”. I ended up generating about 10 initial design concepts for them to choose from, so we had a lot of good options before really digging into the nuts and bolts of the re-skin. The end result turned out rather nice, and I’ll try to show the final designs here once it’s officially released.

Because of the large amount of initial concepts I generated, I’m now sitting on a handful of perfectly good mobile phone UI templates that don’t have a home. I’m keeping the best ones for myself to use on future projects (sorry!), but I thought I’d throw up a couple of them here on norebbo.com for anyone who’s interested.

So…here are two fully editable mobile phone UI templates in Photoshop (PSD) format, and they are free for the taking. I guess the best way to describe them is “white and clean” – they are totally generic, but do feature some blue highlights here and there. Please use them however you wish. Both are high resolution 480×800 layouts which works perfectly for Android devices. Converting these to landscape formats shouldn’t be too difficult if you’re handy with Photoshop.

Enjoy!

I have to secretly admit that I’m having a ton of fun with these Android logo illustrations. The Android ‘bot has more of a whimsical edge to it than most other major corporate brand identities, and for whatever reason, it’s holding my interest pretty well. That’s saying a lot considering how much I bounce around from project to project! Maybe it’s because I like this shade of green so much. I dunno. Anyway, here is a detailed description of each image in this set:

  • A large black and orange Help Wanted sign lying on top of an upright Android logo over a dark surface
  • Two large gears lying on top of a glowing green Android logo
  • The Google Android ‘bot with raised arms being carried by a simple hand truck over a bright blue background
  • A glowing green Android logo on the screen of a generic touch screen mobile phone
  • A glowing green Android logo lying on top of a big soap box on a black reflective surface
  • A big magnifying glass hovering over top of a touch screen tablet computer displaying a bright green Google Android logo
